Did someone say “anime recommendations”? I have one purpose on this site and it’s to recommend Dai-Guard, a 26-episode series from 1999-2000. Think the plot of Pacific Rim with the vibe of Parks & Rec: Leslie, Ann & Tom pilot a giant robot with Ron Swanson as their tactical advisor. It was over well before 9/11 but it feels crazy prescient as to the Dubya-era security state; yet at it’s core it’s desperately hopeful. An an underrated masterpiece of its time, available various places online.
Are you a Gold Star lesbian? (Just in case you don't know what it means, a Gold Star lesbian is a lesbian that has never had the sex with a guy and would never have any intentions of ever doing so)

This anon is under some mistaken assumptions in an interestingly different way than most people who read my blog
(they’re almost certainly a spambot, and in either case a TERF)
changed the theme on my sideblog to “Tumblr Official” because “Account Settings” was displaying reblogs in reverse order (i.e. instead of “Original Post-Reply 1-Reply 2” it would display “Reply 2-Reply 1-Original Post”) and/or doing the old school massive-indent thing (rendering long chain posts unreadable).
but I don’t really have that problem on main, and i like the way Account Settings displays tags at the side, so
(not that it matters since we’re all just reading this on mobile ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
(and my sideblog is where all the action is anyway)
This feels like an Eric Andre ref and I’m not the only one who’s mentioned/noticed it I know. Also- All these mutants be getting brooches AND having terrible shoes
I’ve seen a lot of people saying that, and it does kinda have that Eric Andre vibe—yet, the Sando brothers are voiced by Jason Mantzoukas and Paul Scheer, so I don’t 100% understand what’s happening here (and also when are we getting a June Diane Raphael mutant?)
(Tangentially, I just re-watched “The Evil League of Mutants,” and listening closely—the Sando brother designed to sorta look like Jason Mantzoukas is the one voiced by Paul Scheer, and the Sando brother designed to sorta look like Paul Scheer is the one voiced by Jason Mantzoukas? WTF)
I had noticed these two while watching “Cloak and Swaggart,” but I hadn’t noticed their broaches–so clearly, these don’t just look like the Sando brothers, they are the Sando brothers, wearing cloaking broaches similar to the one the episode revolves around, right?
How do these broaches know to disguise the mutants as their un-mutated forms? How did the broach design Sunita’s form, if she’s a yokai by birth? Why couldn’t Rupert get a broach of his own, wherever these two got theirs?
All Rupert wanted was to be a human again… to stop being a villain and go back to being just sort of a harmless professional jerk… and April and Sunita are like “cool let’s get you cut up and eaten”? And now all those barbecue show people are cannibals, sorta?
…“Cloak and Swaggart” was kinda messed up (although not that much, by TMNT standards). And it raised so many more questions than it answered!
When you’re at work at 8pm on a Friday because you lost two hours of your actual workday reformatting the PowerPoint deck your coworker made for the opening session of the big conference your mutual boss is running, because her slides were ugly as shit.
I was looking for this post for like a MONTH this summer, damn
